On a good day, without much traffic, Brooklyn is about 20 minutes south of New York City. However, most New Yorkers take the subway to get around. Justin was sure to take Stanley on the subway to get to the heart of New York City & to show him a great time! Stanley even got his own seat on the subway, which is hard to come by sometimes!
Here is Stanley with Justin's friend Theresa in Union Square. Union Square is an important historical intersection in Manhattan where Broadway & Fourth Avenue intersect.
Stanley was also lucky to make it to Times Square! He was sad that the New Year's ball was not dropping while he visited.
Stanley was excited to see where New York City's finest are stationed. Justin took extra special care of him during his visit that he did not need any help from the NYPD!
Stanley was excited to get his picture taken with Mary Poppins! (Okay, it was just her Broadway Musical billboard, but still, cool!) Stanley hoped that Justin & Theresa were going to take him to see Mary Poppins, but they had other plans in mind!
They took Stanley to see The Lion King on Broadway!!!!! Stanley loved the show, said it was absolutely amazing & suggests you go to New York to see it, or definitely get tickets when it comes back to Pittsburgh! Stanley even brought the playbill back with him! The playbill is the book with all of the actors and actresses listed in it, along with the acts of the musical. Here Stanley is with The Lion King logo on the window of the theater!
Stanley's final, late night stop, in the city that never sleeps was the Times Square bagel shop! They say nothing is better than a New York bagel, and while Stanley could only eat a little before he got full, he thought it was simply delicious! The bagel was bigger than he was!!
Team Lewis thanks Justin for showing Stanley such a wonderful time in New York! We were excited to receive the special package you sent us! Emma loved her NYC name magnet, the class enjoyed sharing the I <3 NY! candy bar, the playbill was so cool to look at, and the Statue of Liberty duck is proudly displayed in our classroom! Thanks again!!
