Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana

Flat Stanley traveled to Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, to visit with Meg's cousin Lily.  He arrived on Saturday, September 29th.  The weather was nice; partly cloudy and around 65°.  A surprise for Stanley was that Mrs. Henke was also at Purdue for a visit!

Lily took Stanley on the grand tour of campus!  They took a walk on the "Hello Walk", drank from the Lion's Head Fountain, visited the Engineering Fountain, sat with astronaut Neil Armstrong, followed in his foot prints from the moon, and got a picture with Amelia Earhart!  How cool was it to see Stanley with Amelia Earhart when we just read about her in our Reading class!!

Lily also showed Stanley the ropes of being a college kid.  They visited the dorms, ate in the dining hall, took a nap, and went to the campus laundry room!

Lily was sad her visit with Stanley was ending.  She wished she could have taken him to a Purdue sporting event, see the world's biggest bass drum, say "Boiler Up!" to Purdue Pete, and take a ride on the Boilermaker Special, which is Purdue's mascot.  They did have a great time together, Lily says!

Thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedule, Lily!  Although college is 8 years away for Team Lewis, it was neat to see!
